In celebration of Georgia’s Independence from the Russian Empire, Consul Cunanan organized a film festival on the weekend of May 26 – 27, 2012 which screened films about Georgia’s traditions, heritage, socio-cultural realities, and recent history.
In this endeavor, Consul Cunanan partnered with the National Parks Development Committee, under Executive Director Juliet H. Villegas, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines, led by Chairman Briccio Santos. The Georgian films were shown at 7:00 p.m. on the abovementioned dates. The venue—the 2000-seat Rizal Park Open-Air Theatre, Manila—was full of people. Admission was free.
