Philippine Peace and Friendship Sculpture to be Donated to Stalin Museum
In November, Honorary Georgian Consul Thelmo Cunanan will donate a peace and friendship sculpture to the Josef Stalin Museum in Gori. The sculpture, which will form part of the museum’s permanent exhibition, was created by famous Filipino artist Pancho Piano, the first Filipino to exhibit his work at the Georgian National Museum. Consul Cunanan will also create establish the ”Philippines – Georgia Friendship Corner” in the museum’s park. Working together with Consul Cunanan in this project is Ms Liana Okropiridze, the Director of the Josef Stalin Museum.
Consul Cunanan to Donate Philippine Pythons to Tbilisi Zoo
In November, Honorary Georgian Consul Thelmo Cunanan will donate a pair of Philippine reticulated pythons to Tbilisi Zoo. This is the first Philippine wildlife species to be represented in Tbilisi Zoo.
Georgian Refugees Painting Exhibited at the Philippine Senate
In January, Honorary Georgian Consul Thelmo Cunanan displayed a painting of the plight of Georgian refugees at a special exhibition at the Philippine Senate. The painting entitled “Georgia’s Refugees from Abkhazia” was created by noted Georgian painter Irine Chutkerashvili, whose family comes from Abkhazia.
