On September 13, 2011, the Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation between San Sebastian College – Recoletos and Caucasus University was signed by Rev. Fr. Anthony A. Morillo, President of San Sebastian College – Recoletos. The ceremony was held at the school’s new campus in Carmelray Techno-Park in Laguna. Signing as witnesses were Consul Cunanan and Mr. Norman Camungol, Business Development and Educational Cooperation Director, and Rev. Fr. Leander V. Barrot, Vice President of Academics of San Sebastian College – Recoletos. The MOU is the first such agreement between a Philippine college and a Georgian educational institution and will serve as a model for future academic covenants and contracts between the two countries.
The cooperation between San Sebastian College – Recoletos and Caucasus University will begin with the exchange of their academic papers, literature, and audio-visual materials. The next phase will involve a more detailed agreement, involving the sending of San Sebastian College – Recoletos faculty members to Georgia for further study and participation in Caucasus University’s activities. The Honorary Consulate of Georgia is spearheading this endeavor and will work closely with the two schools.
