On September 26, 2011, the Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation between Lyceum of the Philippines University and Caucasus University was signed by Atty. Roberto P. Laurel, President of Lyceum of the Philippines University at the latter’s campus in Intramuros, Manila. Signing as witnesses were Consul Cunanan and LPU Dean Dr. Conrado E. Inigo, Jr.
The landmark project, an initiative of Mr. Norman Camungol, Business Development and Educational Cooperation Director of the Georgian Consulate, is the first such agreement between a Philippine university and a Georgian counterpart educational institution and will serve as a model for future academic covenants.
The cooperation between Lyceum of the Philippines University and Caucasus University will begin with the exchange of their academic papers, literature, and audio-visual materials. The next phase will involve a more detailed agreement, involving the sending of Lyceum of the Philippines University faculty members to Georgia for further study and participation in Caucasus University’s activities. The Honorary Consulate of Georgia is spearheading this endeavor and will work closely with the two schools and their different stakeholders.
