In an official letter dated May 11, 2017, Rustavi City Mayor David Jikia congratulated Isabela Province Governor Faustino Dy, on the occasion of the latter’s ceremonial signing of the sister-province relationship between Isabela and Kvemo Kartli. This is the first sister-province relationship of Georgia with the Philippines and Asia and the first sister-province of the Philippines with Europe.

On May 11, 2017, Honorary Georgian Consul Thelmo Cunanan witnessed the symbolic signing of the sister-province friendship agreement between Isabela, Philippines and Kvemo Kartli, Georgia. This is the first such relationship between Georgia and the Philippines and Georgia and the entire Asia.
Consul Cunanan Produces Two Television Shows for Georgian Independence Day 2017
Honorary Georgian Consul Thelmo Cunanan produced two television programs to promote Georgia with Philippine and Asian viewers. The two TV shows aired on the Global News Network (GNN), the Philippines fastest-growing news channel. GNN is available in Metro Manila and all over the Philippines via cable television, satellite TV, and UHF. GNN is also broadcast Asia-wide and in the Middle East, courtesy of GSAT’s partner satellite TV operators.
