Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr. has deployed his 25th Filipino tour group to Georgia. The visitors, courtesy of DDR Travel and Tours Inc, made a 3-day visit to Georgia as part of a larger Caucasus region itinerary, which included Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Consul Cunanan met the group at the New World Hotel in Makati City and gave them a briefing and overview about Georgia and its culture and many tourism sites and held a question-and-answer forum.
Consul Cunanan makes it a point to meet every Filipino tour group to Georgia to make sure that all their travel arrangements are in order and that they receive the proper information. He has mounted a successful “Go Georgia!” tourism campaign, in partnership with the Philippine Travel Agents Association and travel periodicals. This includes TV advertisements, magazine articles, events promotions, and Internet marketing. These have resulted in the significant increase of Filipino tourists to Georgia in recent years.
Consul Cunanan works closely with the Georgian National Tourism Administration and has organized three official Filipino tourism and press delegations to Georgia, with the objective of promoting the country.
