From November 25 to December 4, 2014, Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr. led a delegation of Philippine journalists to Georgia. This was the first such 100% media familiarization trip from the Philippines.
On December 2, Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr. finalized the Memorandum of Understanding between The Manila Times College and the Caucasus University School of Journalism, with the signing of the document by University President Dr. Kakha Shengelia at CU’s campus in Tbilisi, Georgia.
From November 27 – December 4, 2014, the Consulate of Georgia in the Philippines led by Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr., in cooperation with Professor Davit Lortkipanidze and Dr. Lela Tsitsuashvili of the Georgian National Museum and Philippines Consul General (a.h.) Teimuraz Chichinadze, held the first Filipino art exhibit in Georgia, at the Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts at Pushkin Park in Tbilisi.
Tbilisi, Georgia: On November 28, the first bust of Dr. Jose Rizal, the National Hero of the Philippines, was established in Tbilisi, Georgia. This is also the first statue of Rizal in the Caucasus region.
