In late November and early December, Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr. gave a series of interviews on Georgian television and radio.
Consul Cunanan was in Tbilisi for the holding of his “Colors of Hope” event, an exhibition of master painter and visual artist Pancho Piano at the Shota Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts. Mr. Piano is the first Filipino painter to formally exhibit his work in Georgia and the Caucasus. The project was in cooperation with the Georgian National Museum, led by officials Professor David Lordkipanidze and Dr. Lela Tsitsuashvili.
In the interviews, Consul Cunanan promoted the exhibition and also talked about his office’s many socio-cultural, academic, and economic initiatives to bring the Philippines and Georgia closer together. He also bared his future plans, which include the holding of more film festivals and the exchange of cultural exhibitions between Georgia and the Philippines. The interviews were broadcast all over Georgia and are available for viewing on YouTube. Earlier in the year, Consul Cunanan was also interviewed by veteran newscaster Lela Tsiklauri on TV3 and by the Economic Times.
