The Consulate of Georgia in the Philippines, led by Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr. is bringing highly-acclaimed Philippine film director Brillante Mendoza to participate in the 15th Tbilisi International Film Festival. He is the first and only Filipino to win the coveted Best Director award at the 62^nd Cannes Film Festival, for his film “Kinatay”. His film “Lola” won Best Picture at the 6^th Dubai International Film Festival, while his epic “Thy Womb” competed for the Golden Lion at the 69^th Venice International Film Festival.

In late November and early December, a powerhouse cultural delegation from the Philippines is bound for Georgia. Organized by the Consulate of Georgia in the Philippines _(NL), under the leadership of Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr., the delegation will include highly-acclaimed film director Brillante Mendoza and master painter and visual artist Pancho Piano.
