Georgian Consulate Officials to Lecture on Philippines – Georgia Relations at Caucasus University

On November 28, 2014, officials of the Consulate of Georgia in the Philippines, led by Consul (a.h.) Thelmo Cunanan Jr, will give a series of lectures on “Philippine – Georgian relations and Asian Tourism Trends” at Caucasus University in Tbilisi, Georgia. Joining him will be Professor Melissa Dizon, a leading tourism practitioner who will focus on the latest tourism practices in the Philippines. She is also the public relations and tourism promotions director of the Georgian Consulate and member of the board of directors of the Philippines – Georgia Business and Friendship Association, Inc.

Consul Cunanan and Professor Dizon have given numerous lectures on the topics and are often invited by colleges and universities all over the Philippines. They have spoken at the finest Philippine educational institutions, including Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Adamson University, Far Eastern University, and the College of the Holy Spirit Manila.

Caucasus University is one of the leading academic bodies in Georgia and the region. The school has strong ties to the Philippines and has existing academic agreements with Lyceum of the Philippines University and San Sebastian College Recoletos, which were organized and sponsored by Consul Cunanan. In January 2015, Consul Cunanan will be hosting a high-level delegation from Caucasus University, who will come to the Philippines to hold dialogues with their sister-schools about advancement of Philippines – Georgia educational exchanges.
