On September 24, Consul Cunanan and Mr. Norman Camungol, Director of Educational Cooperation Programs of the Georgian Consulate, were the guests of former Congressman Erin Tanada on his top-rated TV show “Frontliners” which airs every Wednesday on UNTV, a nationwide UHF news channel. The topic of the interview was Georgian – Philippine relations, specifically the many cultural and economic activities that the Consulate, led by Consul Cunanan, is carrying out.

Film Donation to DLSU Featured in Philippine Star Newspaper
The donation of films to De La Salle University library by the Consulates of Georgia and Belarus in the Philippines, led by Consuls (a.h) Thelmo Cunanan and Anna Marie Ablan, was recently featured in the Philippine Star newspaper. The latter is one of the biggest broadsheets in the Philippines. Among the films donated were the Georgian masterpieces “Will there be a theatre up there?”, “The Other Bank”, and “Keep Smiling”. From Belarus were the art films “Khatyn”, “Shoes”, and “Belarus. Four Years at War.”
First Georgian Literature Collection in Asia established in the Philippines
On September 1st, Consul Cunanan formally turned over a collection of books on Georgian culture, architecture, tourism, and history to Dr. Vernon Totanes, PhD, the Director of the Rizal Library of the Ateneo de Manila University. This donation marks the creation of the FIRST Georgian Literature Collection in the Philippines and in Asia.
Consul Cunanan speaks at Adamson University on Georgia – ASEAN ties, the European Union, and ASEAN Integration
On September 11, Consul Cunanan was the guest speaker at a seminar for graduating students of Adamson University entitled “Hospitality Management and ASEAN Integration”. The venue of the talk was at Adamson’s main theatre, located on the campus grounds on San Marcelino St., Manila.
