On May 15, 2014, Consul Cunanan was the guest of Cecile Guidote-Alvarez for the taping of her nationwide radio program “Radyo Balintataw”, which airs on DZRH, one of the Philippines’ major AM radio stations, every Sunday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. The program can also be listened to all over the world via Internet streaming on DZRH’s website http://www.dzrh.com.ph/.
Consul Cunanan and Ms Guidote-Alvarez talked about Philippines – Georgia relations, especially the planned tripartite sister-city agreement between Santiago and Cauayan Cities in Isabela Province and the Georgian city of Rustavi. This will be the first such formal relationship between a Philippine and Georgian city. They also talked at length about Georgia’s cultural heritage and tourism attractions and the many similarities between Filipinos and Georgians. Consul Cunanan discussed his upcoming visit to Tbilisi on May 26 for the official Independence Day Celebration of Georgia as well as his future plans to strengthen Philippine – Georgian bilateral relations.
