On April 1st, Consul Cunanan visited Vice President Jejomar C. Binay at his official residence at the Coconut Palace in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

During the meeting, Vice President Binay asked Consul Cunanan many questions about Georgian culture and heritage and current socio-political developments in the country. For his part, Consul Cunanan invited the Vice President to visit Georgia and see the country’s beautiful tourist attractions and world heritage sites.

Accompanying Consul Cunanan to the meeting was Mr. Abdallah Okasha, the general manager of Qatar Airways in the Philippines. Consul Cunanan and Mr. Okasha have been actively promoting Georgia as a tourist destination and were responsible for organizing the First Philippine Tourism Delegation to Georgia in 2012, in cooperation with the Georgian National Tourism Administration. Qatar Airways is the only airline which flies from Manila direct to Tbilisi, via its main hub in Doha.
