Consul Cunanan judges MMC Beauty Pageant

On March 5, 2014, Consul Cunanan was invited by the faculty and student body of the Metroplolitan Medical Center College of Hospitality and Tourism Management to be a judge of the first ever CHTM Beauty Pageant.

The contest, which was participated by graduating male and female students of the MMC CHTM, was held at the 8th Floor Function Room of the MMC Building in Sta. Cruz, Manila. The year’s inaugural pageant theme was eco-tourism and sustainable development and included talent, gown, and costume competitions based on environment issues. Before the contest, Consul Cunanan prepared a short introduction about the Honorary Consulate of Georgia and its activities in the Philippines. It included background information about tourism attractions in Georgia.

The MMC is a major private hospital located in downtown Manila. It is based in a 27-storey medical tower and is fully equipped with diagnostic equipment and a fully automated diagnostic laboratory. The hospital is staffed by more than 300 doctors. A wide range of specialties are covered up to tertiary care level, including internal medicine, endoscopy, surgery (including bariatric surgery and renal transplantation), dentistry, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and physical rehabilitation. The MMC also has interests in developing medical tourism.
