On April 4, 2013, Consul Cunanan gave the Commencement Address for the graduating class of 2013 of San Sebastian College – Recoletos (SSC – R), whose students finished courses in Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Hotel & Restaurant Management, and Tourism.
Commonly known by its nickname “Bastê”, SSC – R is a Catholic institution of higher learning in the Philippines and is part of the Augustinian Recollect schools in the country. SSC – R is owned and operated by the Order of Augustinian Recollects. Headquartered in the center of Manila, SSC – R was founded in March 1941.
Present at the event were top officials of SSC – R, including Fr. Cristopher C. Maspara, School President; Fr. Rene F. Paglinawan, Vice President for Administration, and Fr. Leander V. Barrot, Vice President for Academics.
SSC – R has an academic exchange program with Caucasus University (CU), one of the top educational institutions in Georgia. This is a priority project of the Honorary Consulate of Georgia. Consul Cunanan and officials of SSC – R and CU are finalizing details for the exchange of faculty members this year.
