On his last trip to Georgia, Consul Cunanan had several opportunities to meet members of the Georgian press. The journalists were very interested and eager to learn about Georgian-Philippine relations and the initiatives of the Honorary Consulate in the Philippines to improve diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries.

Consul Cunanan outlined his plans and programs to achieve these broad objectives, emphasizing ongoing projects in education, cultural awareness and care-giving, media connectivity, and tourism development with his consulate’s different partners and stakeholders. The interviews came out in several newspapers and television and radio broadcasts.

Consul Cunanan’s ties to the Georgian media are good and strong. Aside from being a journalist himself and maintaining close personal connections to media organizations and practitioners in Georgia, he has, on a numbers of instances, personally assisted Georgian TV crews in their media coverages of important cultural events all over the Philippines.
